    • California Anti-Discrimination Education Equity Laws – prohibits discrimination in any school program or activity on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic identified in lawcde.ca.gov.

  • Ed. Code §§ 234:

    • California Student Safety and Violence Prevention Act further requires anti-bullying policies protecting those categoriescde.ca.gov.

  • Ed. Code §§ 49091.10–49091.14: Parental Rights:

    • Parents have the right to inspect instructional materials, observe classrooms, confer with teachers, and be notified of their children’s progress.

  • Ed Code § 51101 codifies parent rights to participate in schools.

  • Ed. Code § 51938 - parents may opt children out of sex education and certain surveys (PPRA).
