13 out of the 18 original model curriculum authors - all of whom identify as BDS supporters - leave State level process and form their own group called "Liberated Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum Consortium."​

They begin to sell the original draft into California school districts - circumventing the legislative process towards their own personal gain. The group - LESMCC - begins charging school districts $1500 per hour for ethnic studies teacher training in how to implement the ethnic studies model curriculum that was vetoed three (3) times by Gov. Newsom.
